A WINNER AT THE 2016 HIA REGIONALS

We are proud to announce the magnificent home at Mt Martha, designed and built by the Lowe team has won the 2016 HIA Eastern Victoria Custom Built Home in the $1 – $2M category.

The 2016 HIA Eastern Victoria Regional Housing awards were held in September at the Mercure Portsea Resort, before a crowd of local industry leaders and peers from across the Eastern Victoria region. 

Clients Roger & Lisa had a vision to build a simple and functional home, practical for everyday living, with the lavishness of a holiday house. Maximising the views without compromising the comfort was paramount.

The home is located, high above the woodland above the Esplanade with a breathtaking view. The brief was to create an outdoor area sheltered from the strong winds, and maintain focus on the sea views, within a built environment.

Thrilled with the results, client Roger mentions: “It was a pleasure to work with Lowe, with great attention to detail in every aspect. We absolutely love our home!”




If You’re Thinking of Developing Your Block, it’s Crucial to Get the Right Advice. 

A large number of residents in Bayside suburbs are lucky enough to live on a large block. Letter from a Valued Client

It often seems that this type of letter appears written by a family member or upon request but, in this case, neither is so. It is now just on 4 years since I took possession of my Lowe Construction townhouse. From the start of the project the service from this wonderful family business has been outstanding. There was professional and well-targeted help with the initial subdivision of the original block, demolition of the original house, design of the new building and marketing of the twin townhouse. The ideas I had concerning design were always discussed with respect and where needed modifications suggested. The planning process was seamless and completed on time. I work long hours so supervising the actual build would have proved difficult, but such action was never required. The building was done on time, there was regular reporting on progress and whenever I had a chance to drop by, it never seemed to be a problem to show me over the site and to discuss any questions I had.

The Bayside City Council Built Environment Awards showcase the expertise of building designers and encourage high standards of excellence in design within the municipality. The awards raise community awareness of design, landscape and heritage issues and publicly acknowledge architects and designers who have positively contributed to the city’s built environment.

Every building site is unique and has its own complexities. It is the task of the designer to maximise the possibilities of the site and ensure that the building is complementary to its neighbourhood surrounds.

Lowe Design & Build are pleased to have been awarded Best New Building for 17 Tramway Parade, Beaumaris. A Commendation for Most Creative Design was also awarded for 8 Rose Street, Sandringham.
